Last night we had what we hope is the first Wednesday night fat bike ride of many for this winter fat bike season. Five of us turned out to go ride some nice snowy Woolly. There are 1″-2″ of snow on the ground all along the trail. Some of the first stuff to fall was pretty wet so there is a crunchy under layer, but there is a nice fluff on top too. Overall it made for some pretty good riding in the tracks of folks who were out earlier in the day.

There appears to be quite a bit of snow that has clung to the branches and therefore the trail feels a bit enclosed as all of the branches and bushes are bending down into the corridor. Keeping a set of protective eye wear on would be encouraged, especially for night riding.

If you missed the Wednesday night ride, the good news is that this Saturday, the Solstice Chase is holding a course preview ride. Head on over to the CyclovaXC blog to keep up to date on all of the latest Solstice Chase information including the details on the group ride.  And of course, don’t forget to sign up as online registration closes on December 8th.

And next time, I promise to bring a camera to get some pictures of the group ride.
